Grace-St. Luke’s Church leadership continues to monitor the ongoing developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in an effort to keep everyone safe and lower the risk of the spread of the coronavirus.

Each person’s safety and well-being are our priorities and Grace-St. Luke’s leadership team will continue to monitor and update you with this health situation as it pertains to our sports programs.

Watch this great Recreation and Wellness video highlighting these 2 great programs at GSL and peruse the January 2022 At-A-Glance and Recreation and Wellness brochure.

Registration Fee for sports is between $60 - $121. The registration fee covers: league fees, photos, non-volunteer coaches, administration costs, equipment/supplies, trophies, uniforms, port-A-potty at MCS Field, field space rental, field clean-up and basketball door security, etc.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to avoid waste and extra cost, our policy is that ALL UNIFORMS be recycled and returned to the coaches at the end of the season. Registration fees cover uniform replacements for the program.  At present, participants do not buy the uniform, with the exception of hats and socks in baseball/softball/t-ball. We appreciate your cooperation in recycling for the program's use and savings.

Coaches:

GSL Church Coaches are Volunteer Parent Coaches. This is the traditional format for recreational leagues.  Efforts are made to equip coaches with knowledge and assistance to ensure good coaching.

To ensure your child's safety, ALL GSL Coaches are REQUIRED to complete an online "Safeguarding God's Children" training course, be fingerprinted, have a background check and complete a coaches application.

Sports Mission: Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church provides sports opportunities in the parish, school and wider community, through church leagues, for Junior Kindergarten-Fourth grades. Our primary focus is to teach children the fundamentals of sports and competition, while fostering principles of leadership and integrity.

 Athletic Committee Members:

The Athletic Committee is comprised of 7 members who are Grace-St. Luke's School Parents and Guardians, Parishioners and Coaches and serve as an advisory board to the church Athletic Director.  Term limits are two terms; with the opportunity to serve once and serve 2 consecutive terms.

The committee meets approximately four times a year and does a significant amount of work by email. Currently, members serving on the board are: Bruce Williams, Zach Moore, Megan Barksdale and Jennifer Gibbs.
