The Community Table Garden by Patti Newsom, GSL Liaison
The Community Table Garden, a GSL Grantee, was created in 2014 through a partnership with Huey’s and Memphis Tilth. It is a Food Bank garden located in midtown Memphis on the old Anderton’s Restaurant lot on Madison Avenue. The mission of the garden is to grow clean, safe, healthy produce for those who need it the most, yet may not be able to afford it. Everything grown is donated to local food pantries and soup kitchens—including our very own GSL Food Pantry.
The GSL Outreach Committee applauds this endeavor and fully supports its mission now in its 4th year of operation. A group of us from the committee helped with the spring planting earlier this year and had a great time. (See photo below.)

~Access to safe healthy food is a right, not a privilege. Research has shown that eating healthy foods can lower healthcare costs by 30% or more.
The Community Table Garden aims to provide as much free, organic produce as they can to our most vulnerable neighbors.~
