Each year, the parish Outreach Committee awards grants to non-profit organizations to support the outreach charge to further the “…Gospel imperative to feed the hungry, clothe and shelter the needy, care for the sick and visit the imprisoned, as well as the Christian call to be an instrument of healing in our broken world.” The GSL Outreach Committee met on October 11 to review applications and recommend to the Vestry the funding of nineteen grants totaling $51,000 to the following GSL Servant Ministry Partners. The Vestry approved these awards at their December 17 meeting.

One of the criteria the Outreach Committee uses to evaluate funding requests is whether the organization provides opportunities for parishioners to volunteer service. Contacts for each are listed on the Outreach Volunteer page of the GSL website (www.gracestlukes.org/volunteer) and in the committee’s new servant ministry resource booklet. Servant Ministry Partners are agencies and programs supported by GSL through which we serve our neighbors, beyond and within its doors. Support is derived from funds the Vestry provides for Outreach, donations designated for Outreach ministries and clergy discretionary funds to further the mission of these agencies and programs.
