Multi-National Ministries has been serving refugee and immigrant families for almost 30 years. Their goal is to follow Jesus by loving and caring for all people from all nations, tongues, and tribes by helping them feel accepted, understand American culture, achieve academic success, and feel the love of God. They offer a variety of programs, and GSL parishioners are encouraged to visit and consider volunteering.
Throughout the year approximately 300 children are served in their after school tutoring program. This program is an open door program and volunteers are welcome to drop in and help with tutoring: Monday is Reading Day 3:15-6 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays are Homework Help, and Wednesday is T.A.R.G. E.T. Day—learning to be kind and responsible. There is also an English for Moms and Preschool Readiness program Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:45–11:15 a.m. This program asks that volunteers commit to at least one day a week and training is provided.
