The annual Grace St. Luke's women’s retreat at St. Columba will be from dinner Friday evening, February 22, until noon Sunday, February 24. The Rev. Amy George, associate rector at Grace St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, will again be our wise and witty guide as we consider “joy.” Where is it? What is it? Who is it? This concept resonates deeply as we all yearn in different ways for the essence of “joy.”
The women’s retreat provides the opportunity to join with a diverse group of women to deepen old friendships and develop new ones. The group enjoys the peace and beauty of St. Columba with rooms, meals and group activities taking place in the lodge. Participants have the opportunity to participate in group activities such as guided spiritual development opportunities, yoga, walks, games, sitting by the fire as well as plenty of time and space for naps, reading, meditation, socializing and handwork.
Who’s invited? All are invited. Feel free to invite friends and family – many women have used this opportunity to bring friends or family to share this experience.
Dress is casual, bring layers and walking shoes, your own pillow or blanket if you choose (linens provided); yoga mat; and if you like, your favorite wine (we’ll have “house wines”).
Tuck in your journal or sketchbook, and bring handwork for chatting by the fire if you like.
You will have a chance to browse through a selection of books from the Episcopal Bookshop.
Please refrain from bringing perfumes or scented candles as some participants have fragrance allergies.
