ACTIVELY SPREADING THE MESSAGE OF “LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR”

The Vision of Grace-St. Luke’s Parish is to be a thriving community of hope, belonging, and healing through worship, parish life, and service, and who rejoices in the love of Jesus to transform the world. The Outreach Committee is assembled and charged to actively spread the simple message of “love your neighbor” by gathering, coordinating, and sharing parish gifts of time, talent, and treasure. We are committed to growing Grace-St Luke’s presence in the Memphis community, working with a limited number of Servant Ministry Partners to share this message of God’s love by feeding, clothing, and sheltering those in need; caring for the sick; welcoming the stranger; enabling children and families to overcome economic, educational, and health disparities; and supporting cultural diversity.

In addition to the Committee, active parish volunteers form the Outreach Ministry Team, engaged in various Outreach Ministries including internal and scheduled ministries such as the Food Pantry and More Than a Meal and external and ad hoc events such as Grace Builders, interfaith projects (i.e., MIFA Jubilee), school supplies and food donation drives.

Outreach Servant Ministry Partners are the in-house programs and external partner agencies (below) serving our neighbors in need. Financial support is from the outreach funds allocated by the Vestry from the operating budget, individual donations designated for outreach ministries, and clergy discretionary funds.
