Choral Evensong

Choral Evensong

Choral Evensong: One of the ancient and modern aspects of the Anglican/Episcopal tradition is the beautiful service of Choral Evensong (sung Evening Prayer). This contemplative liturgy is led by a member of the clergy and the choir with hymns sung by the congregation and enhanced with incense. Each includes the Magnificat (Song of Mary), Nunc Dimittis (Song of Simeon), and an anthem. Choral Evensong is typically scheduled for the 3rd Sunday of the month, September-May.

All 5 p.m. services (except Contemplative Holy Eucharist) are also livestreamed (Watch Live).

The Friends of Music fund makes it possible to enhance music for worship with guest instrumentalists and offer concerts and special events. To learn more about Friends of Music, visit Friends of Music, or contact Director of Music and Organist Patrick Scott (pscott@gracestlukes.org, 901-252-6323).
