PASTORAL CARE FOR NEW PARENTS
“Babies are such a nice way to start people.” – Don Herold
We in Pastoral Care could not agree more. If you are expecting a baby (or grandbaby) in the near future, please let us know. We want to make sure that new parents, whether through birth or adoption or foster care, feel the love and support of our parish community.
We do this in several ways:
- Meals delivered to your door. For each of the first four Wednesdays that you are home with your new baby, a member of our Pastoral Care Team will deliver a meal to you. Even if grandparents are staying with you to help, this will give them a much needed break and a chance to visit. Just let us know how many to prepare for and any special food preferences, and we will do the rest.
- A Thanksgiving for the Birth or Adoption of a Child. The birth or adoption of a child is a cause for great celebration. We can arrange for a member of our Pastoral Care Team to visit you in the hospital or at your home to pray through this short service of thanksgiving with you.
- The Prayers of the People. So that the entire parish can participate in praying for your family, we will let the parish know about the birth of your baby by reading his/her name during the Prayers on Sundays.
Please contact Chapman Morrow, Stewardship Associate, at 901-252-6328 or cmorrow@gracestlukes.org to let us know about your happy news.
