More than 500 students, from three-year-old preschoolers to inquiring and discerning 8th graders, gather in our school five days a week and lots of times on weekends. These 500 children worship in our nave nearly 1,000 times in the course of their GSL careers. For this reason alone, you could call GSL School our biggest outreach ministry.
As an Episcopal school, the mission includes caring for the whole child in a setting that reflects the faith of the Episcopal Church. The first-rate education our students receive is supplemented by continuing to teach and reinforce the valuable lessons they learn at home.
Much of what GSL School does is dedicated to the development of character. Through a number of programs students learn responsibility, caring, trust, honesty and respect, and how to apply each of these concepts to their own lives. Emphasis is also placed on problem and conflict resolution skills. The goal is to emphasize the importance of good citizenship and service to others from the beginning of their education at GSL.
