Reaching Out
The Haiti Partnership

In Haiti, we are building.

Grace-St. Luke's is actively involved in the Haiti Partnership, an ecumenical group of West Tennessee Christians in partnership with St. Paul’s Church in Montrouis, Haiti.

This is an ecumenical Millennium Development Goal ministry which concentrates on sponsoring education scholarships for children in elementary school; establishing a water project to provide a ready source of clean water in Montrouis; rebuilding the local health clinic with immunization and nutrition programs; establishing a website and communication program for St. Paul’s and their related ministries; and renovating a conference center located on their campus.

The short documentary above takes a a closer look at the important work we and our parter parishes/volunteers in the Diocese are undertaking. (©2007 EyeLine Films - Used with Permission. To learn more about EyeLine Films or see their latest work, visit www.eyelinefilms.tv.)

Haiti2011

UPDATE: The devastating earthquake in January 2010 has made the unimaginable conditions even worse and the pressing needs even more urgent.

There were six fatalities at the orphanage at St. Vincent's, and it is being reported that many of the supplies sent on the most recent mission trip in December 2009 were stolen.

The West Tennessee Haiti Partnership has launched a website to update supporters and get the word out about ways to help in this hour of critical need for Montrouis and all of Haiti. Visit the West Tennessee Haiti Partnership website for the latest news and updates on earthquake damage and recovery in Montrouis.
