Feeding a family in crisis.

The Grace-St. Luke’s Food Pantry distributes a three-day supply of groceries on an emergency basis to families in crisis. For many families who are facing trauma and who are not (yet) homeless, food pantry assistance can bridge the need to recovery or more long-term assistance.

Our food pantry is part of a vital network of organizations that serve needy families. Food pantries across the city are coordinated by the Metropolitan Interfaith Association (MIFA), which screens families for eligibility and directs them to a pantry.

Want to donate?

Parishioners who pledge to the church already support food pantry through their contributions. You can provide additional support by bringing food or personal supplies (the most needed items are usually dry milk, canned meats, nutritious cereals, paper products like toilet paper, and toiletries such as soap or toothbrushes and toothpaste) and leaving them on the round table next to the Food Pantry (just inside the east doors to Trezevant Hall).

Want to Volunteer?

Our Food Pantry is open from 1:00 to 2:00 every Monday and Tuesday.  It is usually staffed with two volunteers to distribute food which has been presacked by other volunteers according to family size (1 member to 8 members).

The Food Pantry always needs volunteers. To find out more about helping this or any other Grace-St. Luke's Outreach ministry, click here

"Down But Not Out"

A Message from a Grace-St. Luke's Food Pantry Recipient

My job played out and I ran out of food for my children, ages 16, 10, 9 and 6. I really appreciate the food pantry for being there in a time of need in a world that is so cold. It’s nice to experience warmth and this church was the warm blanket that the Lord blessed me with. From the bottom of my heart (and empty stomach) I thank you!

Blessings on the members of Grace-St. Luke’s,

Karey
