Grace-St. Luke's and its PDO staff are committed to serving parents and their children by providing a motivating program that offers each child a fun learning experience, opportunities that encourage each child to develop socially, physically, and emotionally with other children their own age, and a positive opportunity for the child to have contact with another significant adult.
PDO Director Position Announced
Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Parents’ Day Out Director. The PDO Director will oversee day-to-day operations of the existing program and will promote and implement a long-term vision for this vital ministry of the parish which extends into the larger Memphis community. Minimal requirements include: college/Associates degree, managerial experience (preferably in a multifaceted, church-related child care facility), classroom experience with young children, strong interpersonal skills, marketing expertise (including use of social media), and strong computer skills/experience. Salary is competitive. Expected start date is August, 2010.

Overview and Policies
Class Structure
Baby Room: 3-17 months
Toddler I: 1 1/2 yrs (must be independent walker)
Toddler II: 2 yrs.
Transition: 3 yrs.
Children must be beginning age by August 1st of each fall session.
Openings and Closings
PDO is opened Tues.-Fri. 8:30-2:30.
No before or after care is available.
Early drop off/late pick up will incur a $10.00 fee.
This fee must be paid at time of pick up.
By law children may attend a maximum of 2 days per week.
There are 2 sessions per year:
Fall (Sept.-May)
Summer (June-August)
PDO is closed for all major holidays, in addiction PDO will be closed:

Fees
Registration:
$80 per child
$70 per child for families w/ 2 or more children
Supply fee
$25 per child
Tuition (per month)
$200.00 (3 - 17 months)
$180.00 (1-4 yrs)
Drop in:
$35.00 a day
Tuition is due at the 1st of each month. Accounts that accumulate over 10 days will incur a late fee.
Supply fee is per child and due at the beginning of each session.
Daily Activities
All children are served a snack and have rest time. The program includes free play with toys, books, puzzles, blocks and other developmental activities such as art, music, and movement.
Supplies
Parents provide:
- a drink
- disposable diapers
- a change of clothes
- a child size sheet
- a blanket
- a lovey, or passy, or whatever your child might need for comfort
Health
A child may not attend GSL/PDO if he/she has experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours:
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- fever
- sore throat
- severe cough
- rash
Please report any communicable disease to the director immediately (chicken pox, strep throat, head lice)
GSL/PDO will send home any child, who displays any of the above symptoms.
The State of Tennessee and GSL/PDO requires that each child have an up to date record of immunication on file with us. Your pediatrician can provide the form and fax it directly to us at 272-9833.
Absence
Please notify the Director if your child will be absent from PDO. Any child absent for 30 days without notification will be removed from the class roll, and their spot will be made available to the next name on the waiting list for that class.
A 30 day written notice is required when deactivating a child from the PDO program during a session. Without such notice parents are responsible for tuition for the following month.
Sign in / Sign out
Find your child's name printed on the sign in (located on the table in the PDO lobby) and indicate time in and out.
Please inform the director and your child's teacher if someone else is picking up your child. That person must present the program with adequate identification.
We will not send your child home with someone unfamiliar unless the above procedure is followed.

Parents are welcome to visit GSL/PDO anytime. Please feel free to drop in and get a tour of our program, or call for a specific appointment.
