GSL School Students Contribute More Than 3,000 Cans to the GSL Church Food Pantry

November 30th, 2010

Canned Food Drive

Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal School's Student Council members led the annual school-wide canned food drive to benefit the food pantry at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

Students in grades PK-8 donated more than 3,000 cans in this initiative!

The Grace-St. Luke’s Food Pantry distributes a three-day supply of groceries on an emergency basis to families in crisis. For many families who are facing trauma and who are not (yet) homeless, food pantry assistance can bridge the need to recovery or more long-term assistance.

Our food pantry is part of a vital network of organizations that serve needy families. Food pantries across the city are coordinated by the Metropolitan Interfaith Association (MIFA), which screens families for eligibility and directs them to a pantry.

Thank you GSL School Student Council and Students!
