New Vestry Members Elected and Annual Report Presented at 2009 Grace-St. Luke’s Annual Meeting
November 15th, 2009
It was standing-room-only in McClure Hall on Sunday the 15th for the Grace-St. Luke’s 2009 Annual Parish Meeting. One of the main items on the agenda was the election of seven new Vestry members to serve three-year terms. Parishioners had an extraordinarily strong slate of 12 candidates from which to choose this year, and the vote resulted in the election of the following new parish representatives:
Sandy Baker
John Baur
Jim Greer
Steven Hoover
Candy Jefcoat
Bheki Khumalo
Lucius McGehee
Please thank them—and all the candidates—for offering themselves up for service to their parish.
As reports were given by the Senior Warden, the Rector, the Search Committee Chair and the Finance Chair, a story began to unfold of a passionate dedicated parish whose tireless efforts make our facilities, services and programs possible.
As expenses rise and pledge income remains flat, however, it also became clear that maintaining the level of programs and outreach we desire will require more pledge support. As we enter a new chapter of our history with Spirit-filled excitement, each of us was encouraged to look more closely at our financial support of our church and to consider a journey toward tithing.
