All Episcopal men are invited to come to the mountain for the 71st Annual Conference of the Episcopal Churchmen of Tennessee--which we've all come to know as the Laymen's Conference--August 18-20. The theme of this year's conference is "Don't be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” (Luke 5:10). This year's speakers are Inky Johnson, former University of Tennessee football player; the Rev. Brian McVey, rector at Church of the Advent, Nashville; and Nathan Lee, musician and founder of Send Musicians to Prison which brings music, Bible studies, and more to prisons in Tennessee and elsewhere. Activities: BBQ cooking contest, bluegrass jam, choir, cycling, fly fishing, golf, hiking, lawn games, skeet shooting, swimming, tennis, 12-step meeting, motorcycling and a meeting on embracing loss. You can register online at www.tnchurchmen.org—we look forward to seeing our old friends, making new ones, and celebrating our common life in Christ.
